January 28 is/was the start of the next life. We finally departed about 1.00 pm and made it to Yarrawonga and overnighted at Forges Pump Beach 2 – well it was by the water and it was a truly busy spot, but everyone was asleep by dark I think cos we didn’t see a soul.
Day 2 saw us heading for Echuca via Cobram then Barham
to see the State Park but on the way in we blew two tyres on the trailer and bent a wheel (and yes, there’s only one spare) so we are stuck here for the night til we offload and take all our bits to Echuca for fixup. Mind you its a nice place to be in the middle of a forest by the Murray.
The adventure begins!

Great post Barry & Jude !! We’ll be looking forward to daily updates with lots of happy snaps – no pressure 🙂 Good luck with the required fix & safe onward travels. Cheers, Judi & Rob
get some steel wheels the alloys seem more trouble than they are worth…let me guess they are a strange size!!!!!
they rate at 800kg whereas steels only rate at 450kg, but the tyre size to fit under the guards can only be 530 – 540mm diameter which limits tyre availability. To make wheel changes means seriously modifying the mudguards and then you can’t open the doors over the guards. I spoke with the trailer manufacturer who told me to put the pressures up to 80lbs as per the compliance plate specification “you bloody idiot”. I was sure their spec sheet said 60lbs and thats what I was running. Anyway, $1500.00 later we are now in Mildura
I’m also looking forward to daily updates.
Guards on the trailer look close to the tyres, not rubbing are they?

g@z.
guards are fixed relative to wheels ie they move up and down with the wheels. The problem of tyre radius exists though because you can’t fit larger spec tyres under the guards.
